I would like to welcome all the visitors to this site. As this site concerns the Directorate of Archaeology and Museums. The Directorate of Archaeology and Museums is responsible for the conservation, excavation and rehabilitation of historic archaeological sites in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
A museum is also an educational institution whose objectives are to collect, preserve, educate and display the cultural heritage of a region. All provincial museums come under the Directorate of Archaeology and Museums. You can explore the museums of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa by visiting our Museum Section you can view a collection of museums in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, which represents the historical background of a certain area. By exploring different museums you can come to know about the history, tradition and culture of different places in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Publications of Directorate of Archaeology and Museums include brochures and different Volumes about Gandhara Art
